In January of 2015, I had the pleasure of going Bluefin Tuna fishing with Capt. John Cruise of Pelagic Hunter Sportfishing. I have done a lot of fishing, but not for Bluefin. Capt. Cruise’s attention to detail and patience paid off tremendously and netted us a Bluefin Tuna that weighed in at 615 lbs. live weight and 464.5 lbs. cored. In early August myself and 3 cousins were visiting Topsail Beach and decided to go on a fishing trip. We booked a 1/2 day trip with Capt. John on the Pelagic Hunter and had a BLAST! We bottom fished most of the time and filled the boat with Black Sea Bass, Grunts and Porgy. The only thing that was better than the fishing was the Captain and First Mate! I have been offshore fishing a few times and these guys were by far the best team I have fished with. Without a doubt, the next time I am at Topsail Beach, I will be back on this boat. Thanks again guys!! We had a blast and couldn’t have asked for a better time!
